Areas of Work: Child & Adolescent Assessment, Parent Consultations
Marian received her Master’s Degree from Wilfrid Laurier University and then completed additional coursework and clinical supervision to register with the College of Psychologists of Ontario.
Marian began her career working at Grand River Hospital’s Child & Family Clinic in Kitchener, where she was one of the authors of a Canadian developmental screening test for young children. She then moved to the College system to develop support services and provide assessments and interventions for post-secondary students with disabilities.
Marian acted as Coordinator of Disability Services at Conestoga College before taking an early retirement to return to her real love — working with children and adolescents. Marian accepted a part-time position at a local School Board, working as a psychological consultant and then joining the team at Insight Psychology on Norfolk.
Marian provides both assessment and treatment to children and adolescents, along with their families, to address learning, emotional, and behavioural challenges. She believes that “children learn when they can”. She works diligently to determine the source of challenges and then recommends appropriate interventions, for both home and school.
Marian has raised two sons and a daughter, and values the time she can spend with her grandchildren. She has a true passion for horses and is hoping that, eventually, some of her grandchildren will share this passion with her.
