Jodi Allward is a professional clinical therapist who has practiced and consulted in the Guelph and Wellington County area for over thirty-five years. She supports children, youth and their families, who have experienced significant trauma/loss, mental health/developmental concerns and or addictions. Jodi works collaboratively with our community to assist people to overcome the barriers that are interfering in their day-to-day wellness. Specializing in Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (TF-CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Hypnotherapy, and EMDR she is able to provide a safe space where valuable tools and strategies are learned to assist individuals and families to experience more meaningful healthier lives.
In addition to her years of professional training and practice, Jodi also has forty years of experience in working with both horses and dogs. This has allowed her to combine her two passions and provide Animal Assisted Therapy as part of her practice. She is a trained National Service Dog Primary Handler and provides Canine Assisted Intervention in her clinical practice to aid in the support of children and youth in their healing and gaining of more positive coping skills.
Jodi lives with her family in Elora. She loves to travel and scuba dive in unexplored areas. She enjoys yoga, hiking and swimming with her grandchildren, two and four-legged friends.
