Emily Thornton, M.A.
Emily Thornton is a PhD student in the Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology program at the University of Guelph. She received her Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology at Simon Fraser University in 2020, and her Master of Arts degree from the University of Guelph in 2023. Since 2022, Emily has worked at Insight Psychology conducting psychological and psychoeducational assessments with youth with concerns spanning mental health, learning difficulties, and neurodevelopmental differences.
Originally from Vancouver, BC, Emily currently lives in Guelph with her husband and two pets. She enjoys spending time outdoors with her family and friends.

Maria Amir, M.A.
Maria Amir is a clinical associate at Insight Psychology. She has completed her Masters in Child and Adolescent Psychology from the University of Guelph and is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in the CCAP program. She is passionate about conducting psychoeducational assessments and working collaboratively with youth and their families.
Maria likes to spend her free time with her family and pets.

Leah Tackaberry-Giddens, B.Sc., Hons, M.A. Student
Leah Tackaberry-Giddens is a MA student in Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology at the University of Guelph. She is a member of the Supporting Youth Development Lab, where her research focuses on adverse childhood experiences, critical incidents, and youth at elevated risk. Leah has a strong interest in psychoeducational assessment and is committed to supporting youth and their families.
Outside of her academic work, Leah is a big fan of ultimate frisbee, underwater hockey and her pet turtle.
